A New Health and Wellness Blog for Women
Welcome to "Healing the Woman from Within", a health and wellness blog for women. This site will aim to provide helpful tips and articles from the field of women's health that will help women heal from the inside out. As a women's physical therapist, many of the articles will cover areas such as pelvic pain, dyspareunia or painful intercourse, pre and postpartum issues, painful scars, abdominal pain and adhesions, post-surgical outcomes, osteoporosis, menopause, fibromyalgia, cancer, and muskuloskeletal conditions. As a woman, I also want to cover areas such as nutrition, exercise, healthy relationships, relaxation, and healing leisure activities. Women are unique, in that they are often the main caregivers in their family, and often leave their own health issues last after everyone else. This leads to "burnt toast syndrome" where they finally only seek help for themselves when things have gotten very bad, much like the fire alarm that goes off when you burn the toast!! I am hoping to foster dialogue and comments from women, and lead them to people and places that can give them the help that they are looking for.
